CHENNAI: Bala Vidya Mandir managing trustee Ramana Prasad on Friday said Srinivasa Raghavan, who has been transferred, would not be reinstated as the principal of the school.
“Dr S Sujata will continue as the principal. We are very clear on this. Srinivasa Raghavan has just been transferred to BVM Global at Bollineni Hillside and has not been sacked,” he said.
He also confirmed that the former principal had been transferred with the same designation with no change in salary as well.
Meanwhile, parents and staff staged a protest outside the school for the second day after it was reopened on Thursday. The staff stood by their demand that the management reinstate Raghavan as principal.
The parents were opposing a ‘discriminatory’ fee structure introduced by the management. After continued protests, the school’s management came out with a statement saying that “they will follow a uniform approach for each and every child.” They also said, “We will abide by the rules and regulations of the fee committee.”
Even after the announcement, parents protested outside the school demanding a confirmation from the management on the revised fee structure.
Prasad said, “The school is open. We need to focus only on educating the next generation - which is the child. Teachers say they are child-centric and are educated. This is not the kind of a role model they should be.”
He asked the teachers to come and teach as they should keep in mind that the child has the right to study.
